Death by hacksaw of a mother and her three children

Johannesburg - In Piet Retief, a mother and her three children were hacked to death at their home in Thandukukhanya, Phola Park. After receiving a report from the family members that they had made numerous fruitless attempts to contact them, the police were able to make the horrifying discovery on Friday night.

Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a spokesman for the Mpumalanga police, stated that police in Piet Retief reacted to the call right away but discovered the residence to be locked. Hey had to push their way inside the house, and when they did, they were shocked to find a dead body in the kitchen. "As
we continued the search, we discovered a 47-year-old woman's body, her 11-year-old son, and her 6-year-old daughter laying dead in one of the rooms, and we also discovered an axe thought to have been used to eliminate them," he said.

The twin brother of the 11-year-old child whose body was discovered with that of his mother and sister, according to Mohlala, was located in the kitchen. After the horrifying murder, "surprisingly, their four-room house was locked from the outside, sparking suspicions that the cruel perpetrator shut them in," he claimed.

"The victims allegedly were last seen alive on February 21st, according to additional allegations. Thembi Nkosi Africa Shongwe, the father of the six-year-old girl, is believed to be very helpful to the inquiry, but he is currently missing from his known address at Eziphunzini, Thandukukhanya in Piet Retief, according to Piet Retief police, "said he.

Mohlala urged members of the community who may be aware of his location to get in touch with Captain Dumisani Gumbi at 082 493 1962 or, as an alternative, call the police Crime Stoppers line at 08600 10111 via Mysa Sapp.

He stated, "Police ensure that all information submitted will be treated with secrecy. Major General Zeph Mkhwanazi, the acting provincial commissioner for Mpumalanga, urged locals not to impose their own laws and to support the police in their fight against violence against women and children.
